Cancellation Policy

General Cancellation Principles

Clients may contact AJT EQUITY LTD to request cancellation of a service at any time.

However, the outcome of a cancellation request may depend on the stage reached by the service at the time the request is received.

In general, a cancellation request received before the agreed consultancy work has started is treated differently from a request received after work has already commenced.

Cancellation Before Consultancy Work Starts

If a cancellation request is received before AJT EQUITY LTD has started the substantive work covered by the selected service, we will normally stop the service from proceeding.

Where applicable, any refund will be considered in accordance with the circumstances of the cancellation and our Refund Policy .

For services where no substantive preparation has started, cancellation can generally be processed more simply because the agreed consultancy work has not yet been undertaken.

Cancellation After Work Has Started

If consultancy work has already started when a cancellation request is received, AJT EQUITY LTD will consider the stage reached and the work already completed.

Work may include reviewing supplied information, preparing observations, structuring a report, drafting an action plan or preparing other agreed deliverables.

Where a service has progressed materially, the cancellation may not result in a full refund because consultancy work has already been undertaken.

Any applicable refund will be assessed in accordance with the circumstances and the separate Refund Policy .

Cancellation & Rescheduling of Consultations

The Property Development Consultation is a remote consultation of up to 45 minutes.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a consultation, please contact us as soon as possible before the scheduled consultation time.

More Than 24 Hours Before

Where reasonably possible, requests received more than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation may be rescheduled to another mutually suitable time.

Less Than 24 Hours Before

A cancellation or rescheduling request received less than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation may be considered according to the circumstances and availability.

Missed Consultation

If a client does not attend an agreed remote consultation and does not contact us beforehand, the appointment may be treated as a missed consultation.

We will consider reasonable circumstances and may offer an alternative appointment where appropriate.

How to Request a Cancellation

Cancellation requests should be sent to AJT EQUITY LTD by email so that the request can be properly recorded.

Please include the following information:

• Your name or the name used when arranging the service.
• The relevant service name.
• The email address used for the enquiry or service.
• The reason for cancellation, where you wish to provide one.
• Any relevant consultation date or scheduled appointment information.

We will acknowledge the cancellation request and, where necessary, confirm whether work had already started and what stage the service had reached.

Cancellation Where Information Has Not Been Provided

A consultancy service may require project information before work can begin.

If the required information has not yet been provided, the service may not have started even though the service has been arranged.

Clients who no longer require the service should contact us as soon as possible rather than allowing the service to remain pending.

Any applicable refund or cancellation treatment will be assessed in accordance with the circumstances and the Refund Policy .

Changes to the Requested Service

If you wish to change the selected consultancy service rather than cancel it completely, please contact us before work begins wherever possible.

A request to change the service may require a review of the revised scope, information requirements and delivery timeframe.

A change requested after work has started may not always be possible within the original scope or delivery timeframe.

Any material additional work will be considered separately and will not automatically form part of the original service.

Cancellation and Refund Requests

Cancellation and refund requests are related but are considered separately.

A cancellation request stops or seeks to stop the relevant service. Whether any amount is refundable depends on the circumstances, including whether work has started and whether a deliverable has already been prepared or supplied.

Reasonable Circumstances

We understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly.

Where a cancellation or rescheduling request is caused by circumstances outside the client’s reasonable control, AJT EQUITY LTD may consider a reasonable alternative arrangement.

This may include rescheduling a remote consultation or reviewing the status of consultancy work before determining the appropriate next step.

Each request will be considered according to the circumstances and the stage of the relevant service.

Defined Consultancy Services

AJT EQUITY LTD provides consultancy and project support within the defined scope of each service.

Cancellation of a service does not alter the scope of work that has already been completed before the cancellation request was received.

Our consultancy services are based on information supplied by the client and do not constitute architectural design, structural engineering, surveying, valuation, legal advice, regulated financial advice or statutory approval.
